I am a furniture maker working out of the North East of England specialising in unique handcrafted pieces made from a variety of both native and exotic hardwoods. For more information on timbers please click the link at the top of the page.

Having initially trained as a guitarmaker I went on to train at the University of Cumbria, studying Contemporary Applied Arts specialising in Furniture Craft.

I want my work to whisper and never shout

As a designer maker I am inspired by a tradition and craftsmanship which is today largely forgotten. Through both its design and execution my work carries the suggestion of old ways, traditions and respect for the natural world by speaking its message quietly and never shouting. My hope is that the gentle and balanced nature of my work affords it a clarity neccessary for its voice to be heard.

As a practitioner I am driven by a desire to create unique, contemporary, functional pieces which are able to inform our lives from within their everyday context.
